July is shaping up to be a fantastic month for live music. I don’t have any specific Fourth of July suggestions for you because I always watch fireworks off the Morrison Bridge and have a potluck with friends and it suits me fine.
Shows You Don’t Want to Miss
The month starts out with a Portland tradition, the Waterfront Blues Fest. July 1st – 4th.
Friday, July 1st is Rihanna/Nicki/Beyonce Night at Holocene.
Thanks and Moon by You will be at Mississippi Studios Saturday, July 2nd.
Sunday, July 3rd Die Robot plays at Star Theater.
If fireworks aren’t your thing, catch Máscaras at Dig a Pony on July 4th.
VERY excited about this one – Phantoms supporting Health at Mississippi Studios on Tuesday, July 5th! Not so into Health, very big fan of Phantoms. Saw them support Beat Connection last year and it was a phenomenal performance.
New Zealanders Yumi Zouma play Holocene Thursday, July 7th. Their new album, Yoncalla, is addictive.
Second Fridays are always Believe You Me at The Liquor Store. Always packed and for good reason.

July is Oregon Craft Beer Month!
The Portland Craft Beer Festival, featuring beers only made within city limits, takes over Fields Neighborhood Park the 1st through the 3rd. (1099 NW Overton).
As part of Oregon Craft Beer Month, McMenamins locations will be offering $4.50 pints of featured beer all day, every day of July.
