Ten Toe Express Walks already began May 7th. I love these planned free walks, which begin and end along Trimet routes. They take place on alternating Thursdays at 6:00 pm and Saturdays at 9:00 am through September 10th.

Shows You Don’t Want to Miss

Friday, Juy 17th there are two great events. If you’re in the mood to dance, you will be well served by A Possible History of Dance Music night at Holocene. I like to get there early to dance to the best stuff from the earlier decades. Pale Dian, an excellent goth/darkwave band from Austin, will be at the High Water Mark.

It was the best decade! 90s night at Lola’s Room is Saturday, June 18th.

Suuns and My Body will be at Doug Fir Lounge on Sunday, June 19th.

Silent Era, Arctic Flowers and Numbered will be at The Know on Alberta Tuesday, June 21st. I didn’t get to catch Arctic Flowers at the Out From The Shadows Fest in April, so I’m looking forward to this show.

The ever-entertaining Minden will be playing Holocene on Thursday, June 23rd.

It’s either the Modern Ritual dance night at The Liquor Store on Saturday the 25th or The Student Loan String Band at The Secret Society.

Wednesday, June 29th, there’s an interesting line up at the High Water Mark. Soundcontrol PDX presents Alaric, Adrian H and the Wounds, Die Robot and Vibrissae. Dark Punk/Darkwave.

Food and Drink

The Cider Summit is June 17-18 at Field Neighborhood Park (1099 NW Overton St, Portland, OR 97209). Nearly 200 ciders on tap! $35 online, $40 at event.

The same weekend, it’s the Oregon Garden Brewfest in Silverton. Over 120 beers and ciders from 60 breweries. June 17-19. Outside this year. Oregon Garden (879 W Main St, Silverton, OR 97381). $15 One Day, 3-Day Pass $30, $55 VIP.

Portland’s annual Pedalpalooza runs from June 9th through July 4th. The most famous event, the Naked Bike Ride, is on June 25th. Make sure to check the route, because you can be delayed quite a bit behind all that jiggling white flesh.
